Russian Translation
Russian to English Translation Projects
We assist organizations with documentation or marketing material (e.g. brochures, manuals, website content, PowerPoint presentations, product labeling, etc.) that is written in the Russian language and requires accurate translation into English.
Russian Language Style
Our translators, editors and proofreaders render well-written and clearly understandable texts. We place a high value on rendering a finished product that is faithful to the language style of the original text.
English to Russian Translation Projects
We assist businesses in finding the best available Russian to English language translation resources – an experienced Russian language translator (native-speaking Russian if appropriate or required).
In our experience, a Russian language native-speaker may not necessarily be the right translator for the job. (See: Common myths and misconceptions about translation.) Though a native-speaker may be preferable for certain translation assignments, having Russian as a native language may not 'translate into' Russian language expertise (pun intended). An experienced linguist with strong Russian and English language translation credentials, in-depth experience and professional credentials, regardless of native language, may often prove to be a better choice.
Identifying and securing the services of the appropriate Russian language resources is what we do! (Refer to our Russian translation assignment process for information on our Russian translation project management process).
In a nutshell, we use professional translators who have a solid mastery of the Russian language (grammar, spelling, cultural nuances) and a solid understanding of the subject matter.
Once we are confident that the appropriate freelance resources have been identified and certain that we can honour the project deadline, we submit a quote for the translation assignment.
If we cannot secure the appropriate resources, we will do our best to refer you to Russian translation sources of information that we have confidence in.

The Russian Language Landscape
Population of Russia: 140,702,094 (July 2008 est.)
Language: Russian
Internet country code: .ru
Internet users: 25.689 million (2006)
Russian is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia, the most widely spoken of the Slavic languages, and the largest native language in Europe. Russian belongs to the family of Indo-European languages and is one of three (or, according to some authorities, four) living members of the East Slavic languages, the others being Belarusian and Ukrainian (and possibly Rusyn, often considered a dialect of Ukrainian). It is also spoken by the countries of the Russophone.
Written examples of Old East Slavonic are attested from the 10th century onwards. Today Russian is widely used outside Russia. It is applied as a means of coding and storage of universal knowledge – 60-70% of all world information is published in English and Russian languages. Over a quarter of the world's scientific literature is published in Russian. Russian is also a necessary accessory of world communications systems (broadcasts, air- and space communication, etc). Due to the status of the Soviet Union as a superpower, Russian had great political importance in the 20th century. Hence, the language is one of the official languages of the United Nations.
