Korean Translation
English to Korean Translation Projects
We assist organizations with documentation or marketing material (e.g. brochures, manuals, website content, PowerPoint presentations, product labeling, etc.) that are written in Korean and require accurate translation into English.
Of course, in addition to English to Korean and Korean to English translation assignments, we can also assist you with the translation of the world's most popular languages to and from Korean: Arabic ↔ Korean; Spanish ↔ Korean; French ↔ Korean; German ↔ Korean; Italian ↔ Korean; Portuguese ↔ Korean; Russian ↔ Korean; Japanese ↔ Korean; Chinese ↔ Korean; Hindi ↔ Korean; to name but the most popular... We can source translation expertise for virtually any language pair.
Korean Language Style
Our translators, editors and proofreaders render well-written and clearly understandable texts. We place a high value on rendering a finished product that is faithful to the language style of the original text.
Korean to English Translation Projects
We assist businesses in finding the best available Korean to English language translation resources – including experienced Korean language translators (native-speaking Korean if appropriate or required).
In our experience, a Korean language native-speaker may not necessarily be the right translator for the job. (See: Common myths and misconceptions about translation.) Though a native-speaker may be preferable for certain translation assignments, having Korean as a native language may not 'translate into' Korean language expertise (pun intended). An experienced linguist with strong Korean and English language translation credentials, in-depth experience and professional credentials, regardless of native language, may often prove to be a better choice.
Identifying and securing the services of the appropriate Korean language resources is what we do! (Refer to our Korean translation assignment process for information on our Korean translation project management process).
In a nutshell, we use professional translators who have a solid mastery of the Korean language (grammar, spelling, cultural nuances) and a solid understanding of the subject matter.
Once we are confident that the appropriate freelance resources have been identified and certain that we can honour the project deadline, we submit a quote for the translation assignment.
If we cannot secure the appropriate resources, we will do our best to refer you to Korean translation sources of information that we have confidence in.

Korean is the official language of North Korea and South Korea. It is also one of the two official languages in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China. There are about 80 million Korean speakers, with large groups in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Japan, the United States, CIS (post-Soviet states), and more recently the Philippines.
The classification of the modern Korean language is uncertain, and due to the lack of any one generally accepted theory, it is sometimes described conservatively as a language isolate. Like Japanese, the Korean language was influenced by the Chinese language in the form of Sino-Korean words. Native Korean words account for about 35% of the Korean vocabulary, while about 60% of the Korean vocabulary consists of Sino-Korean words. The remaining 5% comes from loan words from other languages, 90% of which are from English.
Hangul is the native alphabet of the Korean language, as distinguished from the logographic Sino-Korean hanja system. It is the official script of North Korea, South Korea and the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture of China.
Hangul is a phonemic alphabet organized into syllabic blocks. Each block consists of at least two of the 24 Hangul letters (jamo), with at least one each of the 14 consonants and 10 vowels. These syllabic blocks can be written horizontally from left to right as well as vertically from top to bottom in columns from right to left.
