Indonesian Translation
English to Indonesian Translation Projects
We assist organizations with documentation or marketing material (e.g. brochures, manuals, website content, PowerPoint presentations, product labeling, etc.) that are written in Indonesian and require accurate translation into English.
Of course, in addition to English to Indonesian and Indonesian to English translation assignments, we can also assist you with the translation of the world's most popular languages to and from Indonesian: Arabic ↔ Indonesian; Spanish ↔ Indonesian; French ↔ Indonesian; German ↔Indonesian; Italian ↔ Indonesian; Portuguese ↔ Indonesian; Russian ↔ Indonesian; Japanese ↔ Indonesian; Chinese ↔ Indonesian; Hindi ↔ Indonesian; to name but the most popular... We can source translation expertise for virtually any language pair.
Indonesian Language Style
Our translators, editors and proofreaders render well-written and clearly understandable texts. We place a high value on rendering a finished product that is faithful to the language style of the original text.
Indonesian to English Translation Projects
We assist businesses in finding the best available Indonesian to English language translation resources – including experienced Indonesian language translators (native-speaking Indonesian if appropriate or required).
In our experience, a Indonesian language native-speaker may not necessarily be the right translator for the job. (See: Common myths and misconceptions about translation.) Though a native-speaker may be preferable for certain translation assignments, having Indonesian as a native language may not 'translate into' Indonesian language expertise (pun intended). An experienced linguist with strong Indonesian and English language translation credentials, in-depth experience and professional credentials, regardless of native language, may often prove to be a better choice.
Identifying and securing the services of the appropriate Indonesian language resources is what we do! (Refer to our Indonesian translation assignment process for information on our Indonesian translation project management process).
In a nutshell, we use professional translators who have a solid mastery of the Indonesian language (grammar, spelling, cultural nuances) and a solid understanding of the subject matter.
Once we are confident that the appropriate freelance resources have been identified and certain that we can honour the project deadline, we submit a quote for the translation assignment.
If we cannot secure the appropriate resources, we will do our best to refer you to Indonesian translation sources of information that we have confidence in.

The Bahasa Indonesia Language Landscape
Population of Indonesia: 237,512,355 (July 2008 est.)
Language: Bahasa Indonesia
Internet country code: .id
Internet users: 16 million (2005)
Indonesian or Bahasa Indonesia, based on the Riau version of Malay language, was declared the official language with the declaration of Indonesia's independence in 1945, following the 1928 unifying-language declaration in the Indonesian Youth Pledge.
With fluency approaching 100% among the quarter billion inhabitants of the world's fourth-most-populous nation, Bahasa Indonesia has become one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. Most Indonesians, aside from speaking the national language, are often fluent in another regional language or local dialect (examples include Minangkabau, Sundanese and Javanese) that are commonly used at home and within the local community. Most formal education, as well as nearly all national media and other forms of communication, are conducted in Indonesian. In East Timor, which was an Indonesian province from 1975 to 1999, the Indonesian language is recognised by the constitution as one of the two working languages (the other is English, alongside the official languages of Tetum and Portuguese).
The Indonesian name for the language is Bahasa Indonesia. This term can sometimes still be found in written or spoken English. In addition, the language is sometimes referred to as "Bahasa" by English speakers, though this simply means "language" and thus is also not an official term for the Indonesian language.
