CILFO Translations serves clients throughout Canada (and North America for that matter).
The reality is that the bulk of our business is transacted over the telephone and the internet. In fact, we have a large number of clients that we have never met face-to-face. From our Ottawa headquarters we manage a growing pool of freelance translators, writers, proofreaders and editors who live in various parts of the country (cities and rural areas). Our network of translation resources spans North America.
Our pool of clients mimics our resource pool. Nathalie, one of our Toronto-based resources may be working on a translation assignment for a Quebec city client while Marc who is based in Gatineau, Quebec may be working on an assignment for a client based in Long Beach, California. So far as we know, Marc has never been to Long Beach, but that doesn't prevent him from translating an instruction manual for power tools that are ultimately distributed to retail stores across North America. We think you get the picture.
Chances are that if you are a new or prospective client, you've either been referred to us by an existing client in a distant locale (Long Beach is a long way from Ottawa) or you've found us through an internet search. (We make it our business to be found on the internet, including Quebec City and Long Beach.)
At the risk of stating the obvious, there really are no geographic boundaries any more, especially so in the translation business. The internet makes us available locally, anywhere and everywhere. We are just one toll-free call, e-mail message or website visit away. If you really do need to see what we look like, all you have to do is view our pictures in the History & Bios section of this website. Someone I've never met and don't even know sent me an e-mail recently stating that she didn't like my looks based on the picture alongside my bio!? I could really relate, as many is the morning when I look at myself in the mirror and don't like how I look either. But I digress...
The bottom line is that how I look or how my partners look is irrelevant to how we do business. And on that score, we guarantee satisfaction. Our quality assurance ensures your peace of mind. We pride ourselves on being accountable and responsive.
Make no mistake, we are not perfect. Errors and problems can and do occur. What differentiates us from our competitors is that if and when there is a problem, we deal with it! (No excuses, no finger pointing, no BS!!!)
