Statistical Translation
English to French Statistical Translation Projects and French to English Statistical Translation Projects
Statistical documents can be found in a very wide range of subjects: automotive, hydraulics, engineering (civil, marine, mechanical, electrical), avionics, medical & pharmaceutical (equipment, hardware), information technology, optics, science (chemistry, mathematics, medicine, physics, etc.). Statistical applications would include: scientific reports; medicine; mathematics; patent documents; instruction manuals; engineering specifications; etc. There's really no end of topics. The particular demands of documents featuring statistics go beyond the baseline skills of having to be an outstanding writer or linguist. We make it our business to secure the appropriate freelance translation resource for topics related to statistics that is best suited to your particular requirements.
Among other statistical topics, we assist organizations with engineering documentation (e.g. User Instructions, Manuals, Statistical Reports, Patent Applications, Brochures, Scientific Articles, Textbooks, Product Specifications, Site Surveys, Feasibility Studies, Material Safety Data Sheets, etc.). We cover the whole spectrum of scientific branches of practice.
Of course, in addition to English to French and Spanish to French statistical translation assignments, we can also assist you with the translation of the world's most popular languages into French: Chinese to French; Arabic to French; German to French; Japanese to French; Portuguese to French; Russian to French; Korean to French; Italian to French; Hindi to French; and more...
Statistical Language – Cultural Considerations
Our translators, editors and proofreaders render well-written and clearly understandable texts. We place a high value on rendering a finished product that is faithful to the cultural nuances of the target language text, where such may apply.
French to English Statistical Translation Projects and French to Spanish Statistical Translation Projects
We assist businesses in finding the best available French to English and French to Spanish Statistical language translation resources – including experienced French language translators (native-speaking French if appropriate or required).
In our experience, a French language native-speaker may not necessarily be the right translator for the job. (See: Common myths and misconceptions about translation.) Though a native-speaker may be preferable for certain translation assignments, having French as a native language may not 'translate into' French language expertise (pun intended). An experienced linguist with strong Spanish and French or English and French language translation credentials, in-depth experience and professional credentials, regardless of native language, may often prove to be a better choice.
In a nutshell, we use professional translators who have a solid mastery of the French language (grammar, spelling, cultural nuances) and a solid understanding of the subject matter.
Once we are confident that the appropriate freelance resources have been identified and certain that we can honour the project deadline, we submit a quote for the translation assignment.
If we cannot secure the appropriate resources, we will do our best to refer you to French Statistical translation sources of information that we have confidence in.

What is the Scope of Statistical Translation?
"Statistics is the science of making effective use of numerical data relating to groups of individuals or experiments. It deals with all aspects of this, including not only the collection, analysis and interpretation of such data, but also the planning of the collection of data, in terms of the design of surveys and experiments.
A statistician is someone who is particularly versed in the ways of thinking necessary for the successful application of statistical analysis. Often such people have gained this experience after starting work in any of a list of fields of application of statistics. There is also a discipline called mathematical statistics, which is concerned with the theoretical basis of the subject.
The word statistics can either be singular or plural. In its singular form, statistics refers to the mathematical science discussed in this article. In its plural form, statistics is the plural of the word statistic, which refers to a quantity (such as a mean) calculated from a set of data.
Statistics is considered by some to be a mathematical science pertaining to the collection, analysis, interpretation or explanation, and presentation of data, while others consider it to be a branch of mathematics[5] concerned with collecting and interpreting data. Because of its empirical roots and its focus on applications, statistics is usually considered to be a distinct mathematical science rather than a branch of mathematics.
Statisticians improve the quality of data with the design of experiments and survey sampling. Statistics also provides tools for prediction and forecasting using data and statistical models. Statistics is applicable to a wide variety of academic disciplines, including natural and social sciences, government, and business.
Statistical methods can be used to summarize or describe a collection of data; this is called descriptive statistics. This is useful in research, when communicating the results of experiments. In addition, patterns in the data may be modeled in a way that accounts for randomness and uncertainty in the observations, and are then used to draw inferences about the process or population being studied; this is called inferential statistics. Inference is a vital element of scientific advance, since it provides a prediction (based in data) for where a theory logically leads. To further prove the guiding theory, these predictions are tested as well, as part of the scientific method. If the inference holds true, then the descriptive statistics of the new data increase the soundness of that hypothesis. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (a.k.a., predictive statistics) together comprise applied statistics."
Given the wide diversity of producers and products, all of which have their own peculiar technical challenges (from a linguistic standpoint), sourcing competent translation resources is a task ideally suited to a translation agency that is accustomed to identifying the 'right' resource for a given assignment.
